Charlene Gay: President
Charlene Gay can was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts and found her way to Philadelphia in 2005 to pursue her college dreams. She found her way towards a Tourism and Hospitality management major where she hopes to eventually go into Sales and Marketing in Hospitality. She spends most of her time working at the Black Women in Sport Foundation as a Sport mentor working with children ages ranging from 11-14, encouraging discipline and teamwork through organized sports. She currently serves as the President of her sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
Hillary Harvey
Hillary Harvey entered the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management in fall 2006, as a Tourism and Hospitality Major. She completed her junior internship in the summer of 2008 at the Philadelphia Zoo, serving as a guest relations and event planning intern. In the future, she hopes to complete and internship in event planning, especially at a non-profit organization.

Hillary Harvey: Chair
Hillary Harvey entered the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management in fall 2006, as a Tourism and Hospitality Major. She completed her junior internship in the summer of 2008 at the Philadelphia Zoo, serving as a guest relations and event planning intern. In the future, she hopes to complete and internship in event planning, especially at a non-profit organization.
Shane Berliner
Shane Berliner is a Sport and Recreation Management major in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. He currently works in facilities management and event operations for Global Spectrum at Citizens Bank Park. For the past three years, he has also worked for Comcast-Spectacor as a Market Research Assistant during Sixers' and Flyers' home games at the Wachovia Center. He completed his Junior Internship at Comcast-Spectacor in the Technology Solutions Department. After graduation, he hopes to continue to work in the sports and entertainment industries.

David Kangas: Chair
David Kangas is a Sport and Recreation Major with a Business Minor. Currently David serves as a Resident Assistant on campus and has also worked with the Office of Orientation as an Owl Team leader. This past summer David interned with the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (PAJ) as their Events Intern. David's duties consisted of planning and implementing PAJ's annual Summer Retreat at the Hyatt in Cambridge, MD and also working PAJ's Annual Philadelphia Automobile Law Seminar. In the future, David hopes to attend Law School and practice Sport and Entertainment Law.
Austin Case
Austin Case is a Tourism and Hospitality Management major with a concentration in Hospitality Management Systems. Since arriving into the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management she has completed a two year internship with the Union League of Philadelphia and is currently interning at the Fox School of Business in the Dean's Office. In the past Austin has traveled a great deal, and has plans to travel in the near future and hopes wherever she completes her senior internship, she can work in a diverse setting and enhance her cultural exposure!
Dyonne Crudup
Dyonne Crudup is majoring in Sport and Recreation Management. Dyonne is also on the Temple football team, is on full athletic scholarship and has dreams of playing professional football. As a back-up plan he would like to work with kids or as an athletic director at the high school level or collegiate level. Dyonne has been involved with sports since he was three years old and would like to share his knowledge with the younger generation.
Diana Hyunh
Diana Kim Huynh is obtaining a bachelors degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management and a concentration in Hospitality Management. She previously had a shadowing position at the restaurant at the Radisson Hotel for two years. She also completed her junior internship at the Windsor Suites in Philadelphia as a Front Desk Agent. Upon completion of her Junior Internship, she was to continue working part time. She was most recently nominated for Outstanding Intern of the Year by the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association.
Robert Prince
Robert Prince is a senior of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. His major is Sport and Recreation Management. Robert’s future goal is to attend law school at NYU or Columbia University for Corporate and Entertainment Law. After graduation, Robert plans on becoming a Sport & Entertainment Agent. He plans on opening his own firm of agents to take the sport and entertainment industry by storm.
Larisa Zimmerman
Larisa Zimmerman is a Tourism and Hospitality Major at Temple University. Larisa fell in love with the hospitality industry with her first job at a local family restaurant and dairy bar. She has since worked for the Walt Disney World Resort and hopes to return one day. As a senior she is very excited for her final internship and approaching graduation so she can begin working long-term in her chosen career field.

Paige Sims: Chair
Paige Sims is a senior in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. She is a Sport and Recreation Management Major. She has experience in the fields of public relations and event planning. Upon graduation, Paige plans to pursue a career in broadcasting. In the future, she intends to further her education by receiving her MBA or attending law school.
Risa Kamien
Risa Kamien is a Sport and Recreation Management Major in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, as well as a Business Management minor. Risa completed her junior internship at the Upper Dublin Department of Parks and Recreation and is currently interning at the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation. Upon graduation in May, Risa hopes to work in operations of a professional sport leagues or in stadium and arena management.
Shawn Landis
Shawn Landis is a Tourism and Hospitality Management Major with a personal focus on the Hospitality side of things, as he would like to one day open his own restaurant or bed and breakfast. Until then though, Shawn expects to graduate from Temple University in the summer of 2010 (with a Major in Tourism & Hospitality Management as well as a Minor in Business). He is currently employed by the Wegman's Food Market and Cafe Restaurant. Shawn has worked there for three years now and has gained a ton of valuable experience in that time - as this was also the site where he completed his Junior Internship and hopes to complete his Senior Internship.
Timothy Murray
Timothy Murray is a senior at Temple University in the School of Tourism & Hospitality Management. He is pursuing a degree in Sport & Recreation Management. Tim is currently employed at the Liacouras Center as a Box Office Supervisor, a position he has held for two years. He has a wide range of internship experience over the duration of his college career, working for the Philadelphia Kixx, Nutmeg State Games, and Temple Athletics. Tim has a passion for community service, and has spent time mentoring youth in local grade schools and volunteering with organizations such as Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity. However, the centerpiece of his professional development and where his future career lies is with the United States Army. Upon graduating, Tim will commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery Branch of the Army where he intends on serving for the next 10 to 20 years.

Katie Lamkey: Chair
Katie Lamkey is a senior in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University. She majors in Tourism and Hospitality Management. Her main career goal for the future is to become a General Manager or owner of a large resort, preferably at a popular destination. Throughout her time at Temple University she has been able to gain much experience and plans to continue gaining experience in the future.
Ryan Foster
Ryan Buckley Foster transferred to Temple University January 2008. He is a Tourism and Hospitality Management major in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Ryan plans to pursue a career in the theme park industry. This past Summer he completed his Junior Internship at Sea World Orlando, Florida. After the completion of his internship, Ryan is anticipating another chance to pursue a career in the theme park industry even more!
Lauren Harris
Lauren Harris, a Sport & Recreation Management major at Temple University School of Tourism and Hospitality, will be completing her senior year this May. Upon graduation, Lauren plans to continue her educational tenure at the graduate level seeking an MBA in International Business. From there she plans to obtain a position within the player personnel department for either an international or national professional sports team.
Devan Roberts
Devan Roberts is a Tourism and Hospitality Major. After initially getting a start in the food service industry, Devan decided on a career in hospitality and enrolled at Johnson and Wales University in Miami, Florida where gained valuable experience interning at the Hotel Alexander. After opening this business, Devan continued to expand his knowledge of the hospitality industry by gaining experience as a security officer at the Rittenhouse Hotel, a AAA 5 diamond rated hotel in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. While Devan gained experience working at the Rittenhouse he continued to further his hospitality education by completing his bachelor’s degree from the prestigious School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University.

Jonathan Leshner: Chair
Jonathan Leshner is a Sport and Recreation Management major who has worked in many fields including ticketing with New Era Tickets and database marketing with Comcast-Spectacor, the Flyers and 76ers. He completed his junior internship with the Philadelphia KiXX as an operations intern and would like to pursue a career in event operations or arena management.
Courtney Clarahan
Courtney Clarahan is a Tourism and Hospitality Management major with hopes of entering the event management industry after graduation. Courtney is currently working as an Owl Ambassador in the Temple University Admissions office where she gives campus tours. Courtney has interned at Global Events Partners, a destination management company, at which she now does part-time work for. Courtney spent her summer working with underprivileged families in La Morita, Mexico in 2008 where she learned a great deal about the value of life. Courtney enjoys traveling across the United States and hopes to have visited all 50 states within the next 4 years.
Kathy Meins
Kathy Meins is a Sport and Recreation Management Major and a French Minor. Her previous work includes being part of the Boston Cannons Major League Lacrosse game day staff, volunteering with the US Gymnastics Olympic Trials, working with Aramark as a non-profit organization, and completing her junior internship with the Falmouth Commodores, Cape Cod Baseball League team. At Temple University she is involved on campus as the vice president of Phi Sigma Pi National Co-ed Honor Fraternity and as a member of Rho Phi Lambda Honorary Recreation, Parks and Leisure Fraternity and as a member of the STHM Student Association. In the future, she hopes to work with the US Olympic Committee, any National Governing Body, or Major League Baseball.
Nick Wagner
Nick Wagner is a Sport and Recreation Management Major. Nick has worked in many different aspects of sports. This includes working in sales, operations, and even coaching. Nick’s ultimate goal is to work in division I college football as a coach. With the help of The School of Tourism and Hospitality at Temple University and the contacts he has made through coaching high school football, he hopes to achieve that goal of becoming a division I college football coach.

Jenny Phuong: Chair
Jenny Phuong is a Tourism and Hospitality Management major with a Business minor. Her interests are event planning and entertainment venue management. During her junior year, she interned with the 1st Annual Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival as a Festival Intern. She also has volunteered on the Live Nation Promotional Team. She is a member of National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH). Jenny’s future career goal is to obtain a position in event services that will lead to a career as an event director at an entertainment venue.
Melisa Baez
Melisa Baez is a Sport and Recreation management major. She completed her Jr. Internship at Princeton University as an account representative with their conference and events staff. She has volunteered with the Penn relays, H.S basketball tournaments here in Philadelphia, and other special events through out the city. After she graduates, she plans to work for collegiate athletics and eventually direct athletic summer camps for High school and Middle school athletes. A major goal for Melisa is to assist in the planning of the NCAA tournament.
Vivien Hsueh
Yu-Tung Vivien Hsueh is an international student from Taiwan, majoring in Tourism and Hospitality Management. Vivien has been raised and educated under two different cultures and systems, in Taiwan and the United States and thus has cultivated strong abilities to adapt to new environments. Being an international student, she is able to speak fluent Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English, and has a good understanding of Japanese as well. Vivien completed an internship in the Human Resources Department at Grand Formosa Regent Taipei, a Four Seasons hotel in Taipei, Taiwan. In the future, she is looking forward to work in the event planning or public relations industry.
Patrick Jennings
Patrick Jennings is a senior in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management pursuing a degree in Sport and Recreation Management. He has previously completed an internship with the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation where he served as a Hockey Operations Intern. He has spent the last three summers working at ACAC Fitness and Wellness Center in West Chester, PA working as a summer camp counselor and supervisor. Using this experience, Patrick hopes to complete his senior internship working in the field of youth athletics and/or youth recreation. Upon graduating, Patrick hopes to continue working in youth athletics or recreation with the hopes of one day completing his Master's degree to become a teacher and coach youth sports.
David Orr
David Orr is a Sport and Recreation Management major is the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. David works for the Philadelphia Phillies as a host. This is his second year working there. For his junior internship he worked in the Temple University Athletic Department in marketing. His future plans are working for the Phillies in the front office.

Jonathan Ruiz: Chair
Jonathan Ruiz is a Sport and Recreation Management Major. During the 2009 summer Mr. Ruiz was able to acquire an internship at the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation as a hockey operations intern. The Ed Snider Youth Hockey foundation has many works all around the Philadelphia area teaching kids for free how to play hockey. The Kensington area has many Spanish speaking individuals and this is the area Mr. Ruiz was hired to work at, as he knows Spanish. From the internship he was able to learn what an operations worker does and the many difficulties of it.
Sarah Budin
Sarah Budin is a senior concentrating in Tourism and Hospitality Management. She completed her Junior Internship at Ride The Ducks Philadelphia and assisted with group sales and marketing efforts. She hopes to complete her senior internship working at a prominent art or history museum. From her senior internship experience she looks forward to furthering her education within museum management and hope to gain knowledge with program development. Upon graduation Sarah looks onward for more internship and job possibilities within the tourism industry and to travel around the world.
Lakeisha Eaddy
Lakeisha Eaddy is a Sport and Recreation Management with a minor in Business ManagementWith strong aspiration of becoming a head coach and a deep interest in the interactive sports marketing division she hopes to one day enter into the field of collegiate athletics. Recently Lakeisha has completed an internship at AXIS Sport Performance located in Columbia, MD where she spent a majority of her time marketing and creating a basketball specific strength and conditioning program for girls and boys ages 10-18. She has also completed numerous hours of volunteer work helping out the Greater Philadelphia community as well as the Baltimore region from 2004 to present.
Joshua Kropf
Joshua Kropf is a Sport and Recreation Management Major that has worked for numerous companies in the Sport, Recreation, and Hospitality fields, including the Philadelphia Eagles, Starr Restaurants, 5 Star Staffing, the Bucksmont Indoor Sports Center and Penn’s Landing. Josh completed his Junior internship as the Sales Intern with the Philadelphia Phantoms. Josh is also currently interning at Sesame Place as the Assistant Manager of Aquatic Operations. As President of the Volleyball team at Temple, Josh organized the Blake Smith Memorial Tournament, which raised money for diabetes in honor of a teammate who had recently passed away. Josh is also the communications chair for Rho Phi Lambda, The National Honorary Recreation, Park, and Leisure Services Fraternity.
Joshua Seyler
Joshua Seyler is majoring in Tourism & Hospitality management. He transferred to Temple University in the fall of 2006. He is currently a member of the following organizations; National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Golden Key International Honor Society, and Student member of PCMA. Joshua currently works for the Residence Inn Marriott located in Center City Philadelphia. For his senior internship, Joshua plans on applying for Marriott’s management development program. Upon graduation, he hopes to continue his career with Marriott as an entry level manager in hotel operations.
Carly Sokoloff
Carly Sokoloff is majoring in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University. She completed her Junior Internship with a small company that specializes in event planning, called Events by On Stage and Off. During this experience, she gained skills in venue selection, vendor contact and negotiation, and event scheduling. Carly also did a brief internship at the Merriam Theater. This experience at the Merriam is what really made her want to pursue Theater and Event Management as a career. Carly’s long term goals are working to manage a theater, or an event center, and also, to own her own theater one day.

Greg Schafer: Chair
Greg Schafer Jr. is a senior in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. He is a Sport and Recreation Management major. Greg did his junior internship with the Mercer County Park Commission in West Windsor, NJ. While there, he worked in the recreation department assisting with the promoting and marketing of special events. This spring, he will conduct his senior internship in the athletic department of Mercer County Community College. His career goal is to work in college or high school athletics, and hopefully this internship will serve as a great learning experience for the future
Natalie Dickerman
Natalie Dickerman is majoring in Sport and Recreation Management at Temple University. Upon graduation, Ms. Dickerman desires to work in the National Hockey League. In the spring of 2009, she completed an internship with the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation, working with the Flyers Wives Charities. She enjoys volunteering with organizations such as the American Red Cross and the Special Olympics in her spare time.
Kate McFarland
Kate McFarland is a senior in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Kate came to Temple University from Connecticut in the fall of 2006 and will graduate in May 2010. Kate has been very involved throughout her time at Temple starting with Freshman Senate President of her dorm. She then joined Phi Sigma Sigma where she has held several leadership positions including sisterhood activities chair and formal chair. She was also initiated into the leadership fraternity Rho Lambda in which she holds the position of social chair.
Kenyatta McKinney
Kenyatta McKinney is a senior in Temple University’s school of Tourism and Hospitality majoring in Sport and Recreation management. Currently, McKinney is serving his 3rd year as the athletic director and head boy’s varsity basketball and cross-country coach at world communication charter school. Kenyatta did his Junior Internship with the Sonny Hill Involvement Basketball League summer of 2008, where he coached several Division 1, 2 and 3 college basketball players in the Hank Gather College league. Mr. McKinney plans to start his own sport event planning business one day.

Tyrone Holt: Chair
Tyrone Holt is today’s college senior who will undoubtedly become tomorrow’s great sports agent, sports marketer or commissioner of a professional sport. Currently he is a senior at Temple University majoring in Sport Management. Following in his belief of diversity being key in life; he has become a part of several organizations, as well as activities. He is a member of Sport and Recreation Professionals Association (SRPA)and National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH). When he is not involved with the organizations he is giving back to the community through volunteer work and facilitating and after-school program for high school students, which is geared toward teaching them about the sport management industry. In the near future Tyrone plans to either finish graduate school or law school, both of which are a direct step towards his goals.
Tara Miller
Tara Miller is a senior majoring in tourism and hospitality management with a double minor in business administration and management information systems. She has made it a priority to maximize her college experience through studying abroad at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia; leading within student professional organizations; and interning at the Philadelphia Multicultural Affairs Congress, a division of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau. Tara has received numerous awards and honors which recognize her accomplishments in both academia and leadership. She is a recipient of Temple University’s Diamond Award which is the highest recognition by Student Affairs reserved for students who have demonstrated superior leadership, academic achievement, service to the University, and impact on a community. With her degree, Tara strives to excel in the tourism industry, specializing in economic development, destination marketing or urban planning. Tara's innate drive for excellence and passion for continual learning will allow her to achieve her personal career goals—the most important being assisting the public in recognizing the power of travel.
Dan O'Connor
Dan O’Connor is a senior in Temple University’s School of Tourism Management, majoring in Sport and Recreation Management with a Concentration in Sport Management and a Minor in Business. Currently, Dan serves as Head of Umpires and Finance Committee Member for the 21st Ward Junior Baseball League in Philadelphia. Dan also works as a student equipment manager for the Temple Owls Football Team and is a student member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA). In the future, Dan hopes to work in Operations for either a professional or college Football or Baseball program.
